Document Description
This project will increase the height of the step railing at the non-historic patio bar in the northeast corner of the hotel’s courtyard from 36” to 42” and extend it approximately 15 feet along the bar seating area above the ADA ramp. The purpose is to eliminate a fall hazard. The design of the railing will exactly match all existing 42” railings in the same area. All work will be completed by a licensed contractor. Measures to be implemented to avoid impacts may be obtained by submitting a request to the project Environmental Coordinator listed below.

If the project is implemented as indicated within the CDPR Project Evaluation Form including measures provided by CDPR staff, then it is exempt under CEQA §15301 – Existing Facilities and §15331 – Historical Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation. The action falls under the Departmental List of Exempt activities according to CEQA §15300.4 as:
- “Building (non-historical) or fence repairs” (Class 1, Section 15301); and
- “Activities affecting historic resources consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties” (Class 31, Section 15301)
