Document Description
The primary scope of work includes the rehabilitation of 7th Street between Elm and Forest Avenues in Coalinga, CA. The work entails construction surveying, demolition of existing concrete improvements, roadway excavation and grading, placement of aggregate base and asphalt concrete pavement sections, installation of storm drainage facilities, construction of concrete sidewalk, tree grate and frame, curb and gutter, and drive approaches, adjustment of existing utility lids and sewer manholes, installation of irrigation facilities, planting of street trees, and placement of traffic striping. 7th Streets connects Elm Avenue, a two lane rural highway, and Forest Avenue, a major arterial. The street is frequently used by large trucks and emergency response vehicles. The existing pavement is uneven, cracked, and failing. Previous overlays have created steep cross slopes and keep storm water runoff from draining correctly. This project will not only correct major roadway deficiencies, but also improve ADA compliance and beautify the street with new street trees.
