Document Description
The project will repair an existing open-air shelter and install signs for a new self-guided nature tour at Castle Rock State Park to provide interpretative services to park visitors. Work will: • Clean, repair, and repaint the existing open-air interpretative shelter; • Clear excess vegetation growth surrounding an historic orchard; • Excavate five (5) 6x24 inch post holes to install five (5) 4x4 posts; and • Affix a total of eight (8) new interpretive signs to the new posts and/or existing structures.

Project consists of the repair and maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or topographical features involving negligible or no expansion beyond current levels; the construction and location of limited number of new, small facilities included as “interpretive signing and panels” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; and the minor public or private alterations in condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
