Document Description
Southern California Edison Company has applied for certification to implement the Saddlebag Lake Flume Replacement Project (Project). The Project will ensure the continued accuracy of release flow measurements from Saddlebag Lake into Lee Vining Creek. Project activities involve: (1) establishment of a dry work area around the existing Parshall flume and removal and in-kind replacement of the flume, and (2) deconstruction and removal of the existing Gage House and its 5-foot-by-5-foot concrete pad. A temporary water diversion will be installed to divert water in Lee Vining Creek around the work area during replacement of the Parshall flume.

The Class 1 Categorical Exemption (Cal. Code Regs. tit. 14 § 15301 Existing Facilities) applies to this Project. The Saddlebag Lake Parshall flume is an existing facility used to measure flows in Lee Vining Creek that are released from Saddlebag Lake. The Project includes no change in the proposed use of the facility and consists of the reconstruction and replacement of aged infrastructure in the existing facility.
