Document Description
The cemetery expansion will occur within the unincorporated County of Sacramento and in the incorporated City of Citrus Heights. To meet Sacramento County entitlements, the project is subject to a use permit to legalize and expand an existing cemetery operation in the Residential-2 zone and design review to comply with Countywide Design Guidelines. To meet the City of Citrus Heights regulations, the project is subject to a use permit for a cemetery in a low-density residential zone. The County is CEQA lead for the project and the City of Citrus Heights is a responsible agency. The project will occur in two undeveloped areas of the East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park: a western portion of the existing cemetery, and an eastern portion between the developed cemetery and a residential neighborhood in the City of Citrus Heights. In the western portion, a paved road will be constructed in the place of an existing gravel road to connect two existing roads. In the eastern portion, up to three new mausoleum buildings will be developed and road and landscaping improvements will be made.
