Document Description
Heavy rains caused high flows and debris within Cushing Creek to damage a 4-foot wide by 4-foot high by 60-foot long concrete box culvert under Enderts Beach Road in Redwood National Park. Abrasion from high velocity flows and sediment load caused multiple voids in the invert and water flow continues to undermine the culvert structure. The purpose of this project is to prevent the culvert and road section from collapsing and is planned for summer 2022. The project involves replacing the existing failed culvert with a larger concrete box culvert (7 feet wide by 7 feet high by 83 feet long) and placing a 30-foot rock apron at the outlet of the new culvert. Once completed, all disturbed areas will be seeded with native seed mix provided by the national park.
