Document Description
The Town of Los Gatos proposes to construct two new connections to the Los Gatos Creek Trail from Highway 9. The Los Gatos Creek Trail is located along the east side of Los Gatos Creek. The project consists of three main components: (1) a southern trail alignment from University Avenue to Los Gatos Creek, (2) a clear-span, prefabricated bridge over Los Gatos Creek connecting the southern alignment to the existing Los Gatos Creek Trail, and (3) a northern alignment connecting the existing sidewalk on westbound Highway 9 to the Los Gatos Creek Trail. The northern and southern alignments would consist of new ramps providing pedestrian and bicycle access down to the trail. Retaining walls would be installed for the northern and southern alignments for support. The clear-span, prefabricated bridge would not have footings within the creek channel. The bridge and retaining walls would be within Caltrans right-of-way and, therefore, would be designed and installed per Caltrans guidelines.
