The purpose of the project is to restore safe access and watershed health to the Huckleberry Lake area. This area has been severely damaged by a combination heavy use and storm damage. The project will repair critically unsafe and environmentally detrimental sections of trail and rehabilitate/restore damaged areas of watershed (i.e. waterway crossings, trail running parallel to streams and lake) by stabilizing trail tread and uphill and downhill slopes adjacent to trail thus mitigating erosion and sedimentation. Activities include trail tread reconstruction and construction of multi-tier retaining wall, causeway, rip-rap, retainer bars, and drainage structures.
