Document Description
Caltrans proposes replacing four (4) culverts on State Route (SR) 49 in Tuolumne County, at post miles (PM) 9.61, 10.67, and 10.99. At PM 9.61, the existing 18" Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) culvert will be replaced with an 18" Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP). At PM 10.67, the existing 12" CSP will be replaced with an 18" RCP. At PM 10.99, there are two (2) culverts – the existing 18" CSP will be replaced with a 24" RCP, and the existing 24" CSP will be replaced with a 30" RCP. All work will occur within Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to replace the damaged and failing culverts. The project is needed to extend the service life of SR-49 and maintain motorist safety across the drainages.
