Document Description
The purpose of this project is to install a wooden peeler pole and metal T-post 3-wire fence to protect park resources and prevent further unsanctioned off-highway vehicle soil disturbance in an off-limits area of Hungry Valley SVRA. The fence will be constructed west of Quail Pass Trail and north of the Quail Canyon Motocross Track, from the large Quail Canyon Parking area to a volunteer trail near the Grand Prix track, northwest of the main Quail Canyon Motocross Track. The Natural Resources trail crew will place 100 metal T-posts and 30 wooden peeler poles into the ground, the latter requiring excavation of 30 post holes, 24” deep x 12” in diameter. The total length of the fence will be approximately 340 meters or approximately 1,100 feet. This project is located in an area that has already been disturbed by riders using the Quail Canyon Track, and the construction of the fence is intended to reduce the disturbance to this area.
