Document Description
Request for a Use Permit and Design Review to allow a new 3,342 square foot brandy distillery producing a maximum of 20 barrels per year, with a 1,200 square foot outdoor covered work area, and a tasting room open by appointment only. The distillery will be operated by 2 employees (the owners) intermittently (typically 2 - 3 days a week for 5 - 6 hours a day); hours of operation will be 8 am – 6 pm, 7 days per week. With 2 additional seasonal employees and extended hours during crush season (approximately 10 days between mid-August and & mid-November), 8 am – 8 pm, 7 days a week. The tasting room will operate between the hours of 12 pm – 4 pm, Friday – Sunday; with 1 employee and visitors by appointment only, limited to 4 groups per day of up to 6 people, one group at a time, with a maximum of 24 visitors daily. The following are proposed during construction: 1) Construction of the site’s driveway will not occur between February 15 and August 15; 2) No trees larger than 6 inches at breast height will be removed; 3) Construction will be limited to daylight hours; and, 4) A setback 25-feet or greater will be maintained from a wetland feature identified along High School Road including erosion control and BMP’s; on an 8.13-acre parcel.
