Document Description
The California Department of Water Resources (DWR), Division of Engineering (DOE), Project Geology Section, proposes to conduct Seismic Reflection Data Acquisition work along a transect perpendicular to the West Tracy Fault. A specialized vehicle called a “vibroseis”, will lower a metal plate and hydraulically vibrate the plate to send sound waves into the subsurface. The reflected sound will be recorded by microphones and transmitted to a field trailer. The vibroseis will move to several pre-determined locations and deploy the metal plate to provide a 3-D model of the subsurface.
