Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is a Responsible Agency for the Project. The Applicant has applied for financial assistance from the State Water Board’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) Program for the Project referred to internally as T&U Wells PFAS Treatment, Saugus 1&2 Wells VOC Treatment & Disinfection Facility Improvement Project. The Project includes installation of a per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) groundwater treatment system at the existing Rio Vista Intake Pump Station. The new PFAS groundwater treatment system will treat raw groundwater from the existing T7, U4, and U6 wells. The Project consists of four ion exchange vessels, two pre-filter assemblies, on-site drainage, and on and off-site water piping and electrical upgrades. The PFAS treatment system will require well head improvements at T7 and U6 wells, which will include pump, motor and electrical upgrades at each well site. A new disinfection system building, with a liquid ammonium sulfate feed system and sodium hypochlorite generation system, will be constructed to disinfect treated groundwater that is produced from the T7, U4 and U6 wells, as well as the nearby wells Saugus 1, Saugus 2, and Q2. The Project also includes improvements to four off-site pipeline locations. The first off-site pipeline work is to be located within Bouquet Canyon Road and involves installation of approximately 175 linear feet of new 14-inch potable water Ductile Iron pipe. The
other three pipeline improvements will occur at three locations along Newhall Ranch
Road which will involve modification/removal of existing water pipe, valving, and pipe
capping.
