Reasons for Exemption
Class 3 – New Construction. The project proposes to remove the existing floating dock and replace it with a 12’x 24’ suspended platform (electric dock). The existing 3’x 24’ gang way will remain and will be attached to the existing seawall. The project includes the driving of 4 metal pilings. The total combined area of the suspended platform (288 sq. ft.) and gangway (72 sq. ft.) is 360 square feet. No littoral vegetation will be removed. All work in the lake will occur between October 15 and December 31. The project will not result in significant adverse environmental effects to wetlands or riparian habitats. The Lake County Community Development Department has determined that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment and is, therefore, exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
