Document Description
The project is limited to the extension and screening of an existing water pump. The pipe is currently buried approximately 6 to 12 inches deep and covered with soil and rocks. Rocks and sediment will be excavated to the minimum extent necessary to access to the pipe. The pipe will be buried up to 2 feet deeper and extended 2 to 4 feet. No work will occur in wetted portions of the channel. The pipe will be extended out toward the Sacramento River and will be used to extract up to 6,260-acre-feet of water per year. The pipe opening will be screened according to the standards outlined in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) 1997 document, Fish Screening Criteria for Anadromous Salmonids. The excavated materials will be used to cover the pipe once work is complete. No vegetation removal is planned during project activities.
