Document Description
An ordinance amending and adding various provisions of Title 15 of the Sacramento City Code to require new building construction shall be all-electric buildings for all building permit applications filed on or after January 1, 2023 for new construction three stories or less and on or after January 1, 2026 for new construction four stories or more, effective thirty days after the adoption date of the ordinance and a resolution adopting a framework for staff to follow in developing a plan for electrification of existing buildings and directing evaluation of water conservation and green job opportunities.

Reasons for Exemption
The ordinance is consistent with City policies in the General Plan and other plans, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality. Adoption and implementation of the ordinance would not result in any significant impacts. In addition, this ordinance is exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15307 and 15308 because it is an action take assure the maintenance, restoration or enhancement of natural resources or protection of the environment where the regulatory process involves procedures for protection of the environment.
