Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to repair damaged side slopes due to unsheltered encampments excavating into the slopes. The excavations vary in size, but many of these holes or caves are extensive and pose a threat to the state highway system, the traveling public and the individuals using the unsheltered encampments if they were to collapse. The proposed project will be to import borrow fill material, backfilling/compacting operations, the placement of a 6” layer of mulch, and traffic control. All construction activities will be within our State Right-of-Way. No additional right of way is required.
