The Department of Water Resources is proposing to install (by July 1, 2021) and remove (by November 30, 2021) a rock barrier across West False River to prevent salinity intrusion into the central and south Delta. The objective of the temporary barrier is to minimize the impacts of salinity intrusion on the beneficial uses of Delta water and conserve water in upstream reservoirs for other uses, during persistent drought conditions.
