Document Description
Notice of Exemption pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3). The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is proposing to remove a 700 square foot, 1930’s era, residential type bungalow building from Receiving Station H in Hollywood California. LADWP needs to remove the Bungalow in order to clear the northern portion of Receiving Station H for upcoming capital work. The building will be moved to Museum of Western Film History located at 701 S Main St, Lone Pine, CA 93545. Project activities include detaching the Bungalow from its foundation and transporting it by truck away from RS-H, leaving the foundation behind. The Contractor for this work would take possession of the Bungalow "as-is, where-is," after which point LADWP would have no further jurisdiction or control of this structure.

Reasons for Exemption
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3) states that a project is exempt from CEQA if an activity is covered by the common-sense exemption, that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. Where it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to CEQA. It has been determined that the relocation of the intact building from one location to another poses no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment; therefore, review under CEQA is not required.
