Document Description
The project consists of a Master Plan update proposing renovations and improvements to an existing 6-acre public park site. Rather than implementing individual upgrades to specific aspects of the park, Regional Parks initiated a process to engage the community and prepare a Master Plan to guide the overall vision for the future of the park. After gathering initial community feedback, the community participants expressed a consensus to generally retain the existing uses, in the same layout. Thus the proposed Master Plan involves a renovation project with goals of addressing the deferred maintenance of the aging infrastructure; improving the play value of the recreational features; enhancing safety and community connections; and protecting the natural resources of this cherished neighborhood park.

Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of renovations and improvements of an existing public park. The uses remain essentially same and the development footprint unchanged. The project will not impact the adjacent riparian areas, and will not result in the removal of any healthy, mature, scenic trees and will not result in cumulative impacts or significant effects to scenic or historical resources. The project area is not located on a site that is included on the lists compiled pursuant to §65962.5 of the Government code or within any wetland, officially designated scenic area, or officially mapped area of severe geologic hazard. The project is exempt under CEQA Guidelines sections 15301, 15302, and 15304.
