A 14-foot long railed boardwalk will be installed over a tributary draw to connect the re-routed trail with the existing trail. The remaining new trail length will be traditional earthen hiking trail. Approximately 700 feet of existing trail will be abandoned, including the removal of a degraded wooden stairway, and restored to natural habitat.
