Document Description
Repair 200 linear feet of a severely eroded and entrenched section of Bloody Nose Trail in Montana de Oro SP, to reduce erosion and create a more sustainable trail for visitors. Work will:
- Cut dead plant material with chainsaws to fill the entrenched trail,
- Level berms to generate soil and fill the entrenched trail using a mini excavator,
- California Conservation Corps staff will move soil to the project site using motorized
wheel barrows,
- Repair existing peeler core steps and add up to 4 new peeler cores steps secured with 3-
foot lengths of 5/8 inch rebar.
- Level and finish the trail surface using McLeod tools and plate compactors.

This project consists of the repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public facilities or topographic features including pedestrian trails involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination; and minor public alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry and agricultural purposes; included as "trail or road repairs" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities pursuant to CCR § 15300.4.
