Document Description
Water agencies are requesting approval of a transfer of SWP water according to Article 56(d) of its water supply contract with DWR. The water included in this transfer is a portion of the SWP water allocated in 2021 to MWA by DWR. Based on the DWR Notice to Contractors #21-06 dated March 3, 2021, the SWP allocation for 2021 is 5% of Table A amounts for MWA and Zone 7. MWA will make available up to 4,490 AF of its Table A allocation for 2021 to Zone 7 as described in the attached agreement.

Mojave Water Agency (“MWA”) is a State Water Project (“SWP”) contractor located in San Bernardino County. The water exchange represents a temporary change of point of diversion, place of use, and/or purpose of use involving a transfer or exchange of water or water rights for a period of one year or less through existing facilities. The project qualifies for a Statutory Exemption under CEQA Guidelines as follows: • 15282 (u) Temporary changes in the point of diversion, place of use, of purpose of use due to a transfer or exchange of water or water rights as set forth in Section 1729 of the Water Code. Furthermore, • No construction is required to implement the project. • No adverse environmental impacts have been identified with implementation of the project.
