Statutory Exemption 15269 Emergency Projects: 15269(a); projects to maintain, repair, restore, demolish, or replace facilities in a disaster stricken area in which a state of emergency has been proclaimed by the Governor AND 15269(b); emergency repairs to publicly owned service facilities necessary to maintain service essential to the public health, safety or welfare. Emergency repairs include those that require a reasonable amount of planning to address an anticipated emergency. Lake County has been besieged by wild fires in the last 5 years. Harbor View Mutual Water Company is acquiring grant funding to replace the old and leaking water storage tanks to be better able to provide essential services and increase capacity of the water system to meet the State fire capacity standards. The Lake County Community Development Department has determined that the project meets the criteria outlined in Article 18 for Statutory Exemptions of the CEQA Handbook and is, therefore, exempt from the requirements of CEQA.
