Document Description
Install nine (9) “Park Welcome Signs” at nine (9) different entrances to Washoe Meadows State Park to improve the visitor experience and indicate boundary delineations for the visiting public. Each sign is 38” wide by 24” tall and says, “Welcome to Washoe Meadows State Park”, accompanied by three rules and regulations icons placed below the text. Each sign will be mounted on two (2) 8’ x 4” x 6” redwood posts buried approximately 2’ in the ground. All nine (9) project areas will be accessed along existing Park routes. All work will be done with hand crews and hand tools only (shovels). No equipment will be used to excavate the holes. All signs will be installed in accordance with the State Park Sign Handbook regulations. Work will:
• Use shovels to excavate eighteen (18) 2’ deep by 1’ diameter holes at nine (9) different locations;
• Temporarily store approximately two (2) cubic feet of soil per hole onsite for backfill (approximately thirty-six (26) total cubic feet);
• Install 8’ tall x 4” x 6” redwood post in each hole;
• Backfill holes with excavated material; and
• Mount “Park Welcome Sign” to two (2) posts at each site.
