Document Description
The District proposes to develop an elementary school to serve the Eastside Neighborhood. District selected three options as the most viable for further evaluation. All three options would vacate Park Avenue between 13th and 14th St. and acquire and remove structures on parcels in Block B and C. All three options would preserve the existing two historic buildings at the southeast corner of Lincoln HS. Option 1 site would total 8.62 acres and approx. 61,150 SF of new construction would be provided to serve 800 TK-6th grade students. The existing Lincoln HS would be demolished and its operation would be relocated elsewhere. Option 2 site would total 7.07 acres and approx. 61,150 SF of new construction would be provided to serve up to 800 TK-6th grade students. Option 2 includes a portion of Lincoln Park as part of the elementary school campus as a joint use park. The joint-use park would be used by students-only during school hours and open to public during after school hours. Lincoln HS would not be demolished and its use would remain. Option 3 site would total 8.62 acres and approx. 83,350 SF of new construction would be provided to serve up to 800 TK-6th grade students and 200 high school students. Lincoln HS would be demolished under Option 3.
