The subject Project proposes replacement of the existing deteriorated or damaged structures or facilities (Class 1 Exemption). The subject Project proposes replacement of the existing deteriorated Pier railing system with a similar system that will meet current code requirements. The subject Project also qualifies for a Class 2 CEQA categorical exemption per Section 15302, Replacement or Reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity. The subject Project proposes no expansion or increased capacity. Due to the nature of proposed activities, no Exceptions listed in Section 15300.2 are present that would prohibit the use of a Class 1 or 2 Exemption.
