Document Description
The Project includes the development of 1.42 acres of undeveloped land into an approximately 28,600-square-foot warehouse and parking lot, and planting five oak trees (Quercus sp.). Project activities include using heavy equipment to grub and grade the entire Project site, trench digging, building and driveway construction, concrete-pouring, landscaping, installing bioretention areas, and other activities.
The Project will result in permanent impacts to 1.42 acres of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) upland habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
Major Amendment No. 1, as approved, increases the permanent impacts to California tiger salamander upland habitat by 0.04 acres as a result of the installation of bioretention areas. In approving Major Amendment No. 1, CDFW determined, among other things, that no substantial increase in the nature or scope of the previous authorization by the ITP, and that no new significant or substantially more severe environmental impacts than previously considered and disclosed, would occur.
