ABC Unified School District proposes to install solar energy arrays on three carport structures (Structures A through C) at Fedde Academy. Structures A, B, and C would be located on an existing parking lot on the northeastern side of the campus. The carports would be a minimum of 13-foot high and consist of metal columns and beams supporting array panels. Structures A, B, and C would each have 235 photo-voltaic (PV) modules with direct current (DC) system size of 98.700 kilowatts (kW), 130 PV modules with 54.600 kW, and 165 PV modules with 69.300 kW, respectively, all tilted at a 7-degree angle. Therefore, there would be a combined total of 530 PV modules and the total DC system size of 222.600 kW. Approximately 291 feet of conduit would be installed by directional borings from the solar array through the parking lot to an existing electrical equipment box. A second point of interconnection is provided on the southwestern corner of the campus. However, conduits have not been installed to this point of interconnection. The project would also provide underground conduit for installation of car chargers in the future. However, Installation of car chargers require additional funding and would not be installed at this time. The District and general community will benefit from a reduction in energy consumption and reduced energy costs.
