The District proposes to install solar energy arrays on five elevated carport structures (Structures A through E) at District Office. Structures A, B and C would be installed in the northwestern parking lot and Structures D and E would be located at the northeastern parking lots. The carports would be a minimum of 13-foot high and consist of metal columns and beams supporting array panels. Structures A, B, and C would each have 252 photo-voltaic (PV) modules with direct current (DC) system size of 105.840 kilowatts (kW), Structure D would have 342 PV modules with DC system size of 143.640 kW, and Structure E would have 180 PV modules with DC system size of 75.600 kW, all tilted at a 7-degree angle. There would be a combined total of 1,278 PV modules and the total DC system size of 536.760 kW. Approximately 705 feet of conduits would be installed through directional borings from the solar arrays through paved lots and grass area to an existing electrical equipment box. The project would also provide underground conduit for installation of car chargers in the future. However, Installation of car chargers require additional funding and would not be installed at this time. The District and general community will benefit from a reduction in energy consumption and reduced energy costs.
