The District proposes to install solar energy arrays on three elevated carport structures (Structures A through C) at Tracy HS. Structures A, B, and C would be installed in the parking lot in the northwestern corner of the campus. The carports would be a minimum of 13-foot high and consist of metal columns and beams supporting array panels. Structures A and C would each have 258 photo-voltaic (PV) modules with direct current (DC) system size of 108.360 kilowatts (kW) and Structure B would have 248 PV modules with DC system size of 246 kW, all tilted at a 7-degree angle. Therefore, there would be a total of 762 PV modules with the total DC system size of 320.040 kW in the school. Approximately 1,002 feet of conduits would be installed through directional borings from the solar arrays through paved lots and grass area to two existing electrical equipment boxes as shown in Figure 2. The project would also provide underground conduit for installation of car chargers in the future. However, Installation of car chargers require additional funding and would not be Installed at this time. The District and general community will benefit from a reduction in energy consumption and reduced energy costs.
