Document Description
DWR and Contractor will perform piezometer work at Bethany Dams. Work will be: drill and construct, destroy and/or extend existing well casings and flush inclinometer casings by pickup based rig. Work on Dam One will have a tow truck wrecker stationed at the paved roadway attached to the drill rig by cable. The water from drilling will be contained in drums. Contractor will remove the drums offsite at the end of the project for proper disposal at an approved waste facility. To the extent possible, staging will be on established roadways and improved lots. All work is within DWR right of way.

The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves data collection activities for a safe water supply. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. Because this activity can be implemented without any significant environmental impacts, the Categorical Exemption Class 6 will be used for CEQA compliance.
