Document Description
The project proposes to install emergency back-up generators at 15 Fresno
County Fire Stations to provide electrical power to the facilities in the event of a power outage. Minor trenching on previously disturbed non-native soils at a depth no greater than 50cm to connect the generators to propane tanks and electrical system will occur. In addition, concrete footings will be poured to provide a level foundation for the generator. These generators are necessary to provide essential public services during power outage events.

Notice of Exemption
Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
CCR Title 14, Section 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures)
Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt from review of CEQA because it involves only minor ground disturbance to previously disturbed non-native soils at existing fire stations in Fresno County. Field review by CAL FIRE and Fresno County Fire Protection District Environmental Staff confirmed no exceptions apply which would preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project. It has been determined that these activities will have a less that significant impact to the environment.
