Document Description
CRS HVAC Renewal project will 1) replace the exterior decayed building envelope with a sustainable long-lasting renewable / repurposed product with little-to-no carbon, and 2) replace the exterior windows and their automation for a natural ventilation system that is linked to the HVAC systems, and 3) Interior lighting upgrade to LED lights with automated controls. This project will reduce the energy consumption and carbon footprint of the complex to create a Net Zero facility.

Reasons for Exemption
It has been determined that the CRS HVAC Renewal project is Categorically Exempt under Code Section 15300, Class 1 (Existing Facilities) and Class 32 (In-Fill Development). The project is an interior and exterior alterations and restoration of deteriorated or damaged facilities to meet current standards of public health and safety. The project is consistent with the adopted master plan, The site is less than five acres and natural biological resources will not be affected, nor will any cultural or historical resources be affected. The site has no value as habitat for endangered or rare species. Neither the project nor the construction activities will result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality.
