Document Description
The Bay to Zoo Trail would be an inland-spur to the Eureka Waterfront Trail/Humboldt Bay Trail, which is a network of multi-use trails (also known as shared-use paths) providing non-motorized access for transportation and recreational use throughout the Humboldt Bay region. The trail would connect the shores of the Humboldt Bay to Sequoia Park Zoo via an alignment parallel to Second Slough/McFarlan Creek and residential city streets. The proposed trail is approximately 2.75 miles long. The northern most point of the trail (origin) is located near the US 101 bridge crossing of the Eureka Slough (40°48'8.95"N, 124° 8'35.25") and the southern-most point of the trail (terminus) is located near the Sequoia Park Zoo (40°46'55.30"N, 124° 8'39.55"W.) The project is located within the city limits of Eureka, California.
