Document Description
The California Department of Water Resources and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (Licensees) own and operate the South SWP Hydropower, an existing power recovery project that includes hydroelectric facilities, access roads, maintenance areas, recreation areas, rights-of-way, and other appurtenant facilities. The Licensees operate South SWP Hydropower under an existing FERC license that expires in 2022. The Licensees are undergoing the Integrated Licensing Process to renew their license with FERC pursuant to the Federal Power Act. The proposed Project is the continued operation of the South SWP Hydropower together with the proposed terms and conditions as described in the Final License Application as amended. The proposed Project includes administrative changes that do not involve any physical changes to the environment, and protection, mitigation and enhancement measures that may involve minor ground disturbance. The proposed administrative changes include modification to the FERC boundary; designation of Primary Project Roads; addition of an existing lake level gage, Quail Detention Embankment, and Los Alamos Campground; and removal of the Warne Transmission Line from the license Project description.
