Document Description
The purpose of the Project is to demolish an existing structurally deficient pier and to construct a new pier approximately 7 feet to the south on the subject property in Lake Tahoe. The relocation of the pier will improve navigational access and address pier conformance issues with Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) setback criteria. The pier relocation will require a 5-foot extension of an existing 3-foot tall wooden retaining wall and revegetation where an existing staircase will be removed to accommodate the new pier. Equipment required for pier demolition and pile driving activities will be operated from an amphibious barge. Temporary water quality impacts in the project area may result from disturbance of lakebed sediment during amphibious barge movement and staging, pile driving, and pile removal. The Project will result in a permanent impact of 3.47 square feet.
