Document Description
Westlands Water District (District) proposes to implement a five years groundwater transfer program during years when the District receives 20 percent or less of its contract water allocation from the Central Valley Project to permit qualified participating water users to pump groundwater from wells throughout the District to the San Luis Canal (SLC) from April to August using existing public and privately-owned pipelines. The groundwater then would be pumped into the SLC at existing licensed water integration locations. Such water would be conveyed using the SLC for withdrawal and use on other land within the District. Prior to introduction into the SLC, all wells would be tested to demonstrate compliance with the USBR’s Water Quality Monitoring Plan SLC Water Quality Monitoring Program standards (based off Title 22 water quality standards).
