Document Description
The purpose of this project is to reduce hazardous fuel loads, particularly dead standing/down vegetation that resulted from 2018's Carr Fire. Fuels will be treated with a combination of hand cutting, piling, and burning, and mechanical treatments. Project beneficiaries will primarily be the users of these popular public trails that will have improved safety, aesthetics, and reduced fire danger. Fuel loads will be reduced 50-feet from the edges of these trails on both sides. Work along the Rail Trail will take place between the Heart Rate Hill Parking Lot and the Keswick Boat Ramp. Work along the Middle Creek Trail will take place between the Sacramento River Trail and the French Fry Trail Head in Old Shasta.
