Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), using State and Federal funds is conducting an Emergency project at various locations on State Routes (SR) 70 and 395 in Lassen and Plumas Counties. The project will occur between Post Miles 46.5 and 51 .2, and 95.3 to 95.964 on SR 70 in Plumas County, and Oto 3.889 on SR 70 and Oto R4.61 on SR 395 in Lassen County. The project will restore the damaged segments of Highway to an acceptable state of repair. The scope of work will include but is not limited to the removal of remaining hazard trees within the Claremont fire footprint, construction of State right of way (R/W) fencing (including wildlife escape ramps), application of hydro mulch, placement of Fiber rolls and other erosion control measures, and replacement of burnt wood posts within the Loyalton fire foot print (MSGR end treatment (all other posts are metal), roadside signs, and delineators). The purpose of this project is to restore the damaged segments of the Highway to an acceptable state of repair.

The project is exempt do to the Emergency Nature of the project in accordance with section 15269 (Emergency Projects). Projects to maintain, repair, restore, demolish, or replace property or facilities damaged or destroyed as a result of a disaster in a disaster stricken area in which a state of emergency has been proclaimed by the Governor pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act, commencing with Section 8550 of the Government Code.
