Project will reroute a short section of Lower Field Road to address a severe erosion issue. Work will:
x Use T-post pounder to install temporary fencing around work areas;
x Use a bulldozer with a 10-foot-wide blade to cut a new 10-foot-wide by 500-foot-long section of trail, to be designated as the new Lower Field Return;
x Use a bulldozer or small mechanical equipment as needed to decompact and return to contour 500 feet of the current alignment of Lower Field Return for removal;
x Plant vegetation within the removed trail area including native grass seed, willow stakes, and oaks;
x Use T-post puller to remove temporary fencing.
Project consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees, and is included as “trail construction or realignment” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR § 15300.4.
