Document Description
This Environmental Assessment/Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (EA/IS/MND) has been prepared to identify the environmental resources in the Proposed Action Area, analyze the effects to the environment of the Proposed Action and a No Action Alternative, and propose avoidance, minimization, and mitigation measures to reduce any effects to less than significant levels. This document was prepared to satisfy both the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA; 42 United States Code [USC] 433et seq.) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA; California Public Resources Code, Sections 1000 et seq.). The NEPA Lead Agency is the USFWS and the CEQA Lead Agency is Yuba County. The Proposed Action would rehabilitate and enhance juvenile rearing habitat for Central Valley (CV) fall-run and spring-run Chinook Salmon and CCV steelhead in the Yuba River upstream of Daguerre Point Dam. In addition, the Proposed Action would enhance riparian vegetation through strategic planting and improved natural recruitment.
