Document Description
Caltrans proposes to replace the failing Portland Concrete Cement (PCC) pavement slabs on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo County in and near Atascadero from Route 58 to Traffic Way Undercrossing. The purpose of this project is to restore the pavement along Highway 101 from PM 37.00 to 46.00 that have experienced premature deterioration. The project is needed because the concrete pavement is experiencing rapid rate of degradation. Approximately 663 failing PCC slabs will be removed and replaced in the No. 1 lane except at Atascadero Creek Bridge where the project will replace the No. 1-3 lanes. Most of the work locations are less than 1,000 feet in length and will occur in the vicinity of existing overcrossings or undercrossings. Right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation are not anticipated. All work will occur within the state Right-of-Way.
