Approval of Permit No. 19486, under California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Article 3, Section 6, for work within an adopted plan of flood control: To construct a 2,800-ft setback levee, seepage berm, and 7,500-ft downstream levee buttress to remediate an active erosion area on the north (right) levee of the Bear River. The project includes use of a borrow site north of the City of Wheatland.

The Project is located on the north (right) bank of the Bear River about two miles west-southwest of the City of Wheatland in Sutter County. The levees affected by the Project are part of Unit 146 of the Sacramento River Flood Control Project (SRFCP) and are operated and maintained by RD 817 – with the setback levee tying into the existing federal Bear River North Levee at Levee Miles 2.6 and 3.2.
