Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to make repairs on State Route 101 in Mendocino County between postmile 43.0 and postmile 45.0, near the intersection with the Haehl Creek Bridge (Bridge Number 0129G). The purpose of the project is to restore the roadway to safe driving conditions. This emergency project is needed as runoff has caused ground erosion resulting in a sinkhole adjacent to Bridge 0129G. Immediate repair is required to prevent further erosion, which could result in the loss or impairment of life, health, property, and/or essential services. Project components include constructing a rock-lined ditch down the embankment to the top of the rock slope protection at Haehl Creek.
