- The proposed project will repair and reconstruct the east general aviation apron at Mammoth Yosemite Airport. The project will include removal of existing asphalt concrete and placing aggregate base course and asphalt surface. Additionally, new airfield marking will be applied and new drainage features will be installed. To avoid deep-seated subgrade failure, repair of the pavement section is required. The existing pavement was inspected and deep-seated subgrade failure is projected to occur by 2027. The current asphalt has a PCI of approximately 48 and requires reconstruction.
