Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is Categorically Exempt from environmental proceedings pursuant to Section 15301, Class 1, Existing Facilities, of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, which exempts the addition to existing structures provided that the addition will not result in an increase of more than 50 percent of the floor area of the structures before the addition, or 2,500 square feet, whichever is less. The proposed project is exempt because it consists of modifying phasing for an existing water district facility, reducing the size of the pump house, and relocating a wall on a site zoned C-2 (Office Commercial), which allows utility facilities, buildings and equipment.
