Document Description
The project will involve drilling, construction and development of a replacement water well. The water well is anticipated to be a 16-inch diameter steel casing installed to an approximate depth of 800-ft. The well will be equipped with a vertical turbine pump and motor that has an approximate capatity of 1, 200 gpm. The well discharge piping will be 12-inch fusion bonded epoxy steel piping installed to discharge into an approximate 250,000 gallon storage tank. The tank outlet piping will supply three horizontal centrifugal booste rpumps and motors each with an approximate capacity of 500 gpm and equipped with virable speed drives. The booster pump discharge piping will connect to two GAC treat vessels equipped to remove 1,2,3 - TCP from the drinking water. The treated water will then discharge through a 3,000 hsllon hydropneumatic pressure vessel and below ground to connect to the existing 12-inch water main in San Diego Street and Hall road. The below ground piping to connect to the existing system is approximately 1000-ft in length and will include a 24-inch diameter cased orad crossing. Electrical equipment will be installed for the site electrical and controls on a concrete foundation with a galvanized steel shade structure and include SCADA comminication. The well facility will incluce a standby emergency diesel ganerator to back-up power. The site will be developed with site fencing, access gates, all weather ground surfacing, site drainage, and site painting.
At the completion of the well replacement project, the existing Well No. 13 facility will have the existing equipment removed from the site, the well abandoned in accordance iwht the County of Kern rquireme3nts, and the sire cleared and leveled.
