- The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS-INY-14514-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Adam Perez, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. The project is limited to the restoration of approximately 60-square feet of disturbed bed, bank and channel on the lower ephemeral Haiwee Creek system (hereinafter referred to as ‘disturbed channel’). Restoration of the bed, bank and channel will include removal of sediment from the channel, removal and disposal of a power pole cross arm, recontouring of the channel to original conditions, and removal and monitoring of nonnative plants from the bank. All restoration work will be conducted by hand with tools such as hand shovels and rakes. The disturbed channel will be monitored for non-native plants for at least two (2) years after the completion of restoration efforts.
