Document Description
Remove approximately 17acres of walnut orchard trees at Irvine Finch Boat Launch Facility; a subunit of the Bidwell-Sacramento River State Park, and replace 5ac with native trees and 12ac with native grasses. Work will:
• Remove approximately 17ac of walnut trees, including root balls, using an excavator, dozer and chainsaws,
• Dispose of biomass via burn piles, chipping and/or removal from site,
• Rip 17ac up to 12” deep and level land,
• Install drip system from on-site well to water 3-4 years,
• Plant approximately 2,500 container stock native plants resulting in 2,500 planting holes ranging in size from 6” to 12” deep, 6” to 12” across.
• Drill seed in approximately 12ac of native grass seed up to 2” deep,
• Utilize Caution labeled herbicides including, but not limited to: Milestone, Round Up Pro Concentrate, Garlon, 2,4-D, Telar, AquaMaster, Transline and Capstone.
• Conduct replacement plantings periodically over time.
